General information
Sandalwood has been a fragrant herb, often used in perfumes and as a Rasayna. The paste from this wood is applied externally to over the forehead, it helps to relieve the headache and control body temperature during fever. Sandalwood is anti-inflammatory in nature and is found beneficial in the treatment of skin inflammations and allergies. Essential oil extracted from this herb is used as a Rasayna in Ayurveda. This essential oil is also used to make perfumes and for aromatherapy. It is a natural stimulant and helps to regulate the bowel movements and digestive system. It is an expectorant and diuretic in nature.
