Botanical name: Coralium Rubrum
Habitat: Red coral is found in the Red Sea, Persian and Arabian Gulfs, Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. In appearance it is a small shrub in a pendant or reverse position. It occurs in slender, cylindrical and generally branched pieces of brick red color. Coral is made up of numeral minute pieces. It easily breaks with crackling sound. In a raw state the stems and branches are covered with a cortical substance which is the Habitation of soft small Polypi.
