General information
Malabar Nuts is rich in alkaloids like Vasicine, Vasicol, Vasinone giving therapeutic benefit to this herb. The herb helps in pacifying Kapha and hence found useful in treating respiratory tract disorders. Malabar Nut's leaves act as an Expectorant and hydrates the body. It is an important herb in Ayurveda and had been used in India as Folk Medicine for curing intestinal infections.
Contraindications
According to Ayurveda herbs are best taken in combination with other herbs or vitamins or minerals in order to neutralize the toxicity of one herb with the opposing effect of other and to enhance the particular effect of one herb with the that of the other. No side effects have been reported with Adhatoda vasica
