Sanskrit name: Giloe
Botanical name: Tinospora Cordifolia
Habitat: A large, glabrous deciduous climbing shrub. The stems are rather succulent with long filiform fleshy aerial roots form the branches. The bark is gray brown and watery. The leaves are membranous and cordate. The flowers small and greenish yellow. This herb is found throughout tropical India ascending to a height of 300 mts.

General information
Indian Tinospora is referred as Amrut in Ayurveda. This herb has rejuvenative properties and is often used in the treatment of indigestion, diarrhea, skin diseases. It also helps in the treatment of diabetes, urinary tract disorder, arthritis, jaundice.
