NOt satisfying enough.

This product does not have the best flavor. I mix it with some Chickory root and that gives it a balance that I like.

Taste so much like coffee you wont even miss it

I've tried so many different products to fulfill my coffee fix. There are some good options out there but this truly is the first product that once I brew it tastes like coffee. No after taste, no weird smell. I prepare mine on the cooktop - just water and simmering -that easy. I will definitively be keeping this stocked

Taste pretty darn close to coffee
Posted by Dena
I didn't have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised at how close it is to smelling and tasting like actual coffee (and looks like it too), so aesthetically for me it is pleasing. I found that if you use distilled water, this gives the tea a smoother taste. Using tap water, it had a very bitter aftertaste. Glad I tried it and will definitely be purchasing again since I'm having to restrict caffeine in my diet.

I am so happy to have found this product!! I can no longer drink coffee and this is such a satisfying replacement. Some reviews say it tastes bad, maybe they are not preparing in the reccomended way?. It is awesome! And, I heave read that it is healthy as well.

Great caffeine-free, coffee substitute
Posted by Unknown
Appreciate having an option to tea now that I have found that I should not be consuming gluten, caffeine or coffee. This product is not only free of all that but also is non-GMO and sustainably wild harvested. It's high in tryptophan which aids in relaxation. I haven't yet tried any of the suggested items to add to it such as cinnamon, etc. but have enjoyed just "as is". I've really savored the stove top method of preparation for a more robust taste.

Real opinion
Posted by Unknown
So being a lover of real tasting coffee and not starbucks that tastes like ash trays and the worst coffee besides a typical restaurant house coffee swill that is acid in a cup, I get my coffee beans from small roasters with organic beans, small batch that actually care about coffee unlike the places I listed above. this coffee substitute is ok. But you definitely can not brew it like regular coffee, not in a coffee pot, not in a french press, and definitely not in a commercial grade espresso machine of which I own and use. With that being said, you must bring this to a boil then turn the heat down and let it simmer for at the least 15 minutes (10-20 minutes works well too) then use your french press to get rid of the grounds.
then it is ok, I drink my coffee black when it tastes good, if it is sub par then I find that I have to add cream, or make it very milky.
So I discovered through many trial and errors that this is the best way to make it taste good. I still can't drink it plain, I need to add cream, or in this case make it a latte.
If you don't make it the way I have learned in my opinion it tastes very much like what an ash tray smells like, or someone who smokes and their stench just lingers around them, that is my opinion of this product, but if you boil it that horrible scent and taste will go away.
But If you are a smoker then by all means you might totally love this product brewed.
It does make your kitchen stink, there is just something about it... but doing my cleanse for the next 3 months this will be there if I need a coffee like taste.
I also found that adding cocoa nibs and cinnamon to the pot when boiling gives it an even better flavor, but I still need to make it creamy.
Due to its healthy antioxidants I give this 4 stars
